Control device for the saturation, clogging or deterioration of a filter bed, comprises an organ (11) susceptible to self-alteration during filtration, means (5) of connecting the organ to the filter bed and a system (7) connected (12) to the organ so when it undergoes a predetermined alteration, it sets off an alarm. Treatment process for a medium in which the above device is used, so when the filter bed reaches a predetermined level of saturation, clogging or deterioration, an alarm is set off.
