PURPOSE: To obtain a drive controller for single phase induction motor in which the function of a thermal protector can be detected and a single phase induction motor can be prevented from being restarted based on the detection signal and thereby protected against abnormal thermal phenomenon and other machines, e.g. electromagnetic brake, can be controlled based on the function of the thermal protector. CONSTITUTION: The drive controller for single phase induction motor feeds AC power through a thermal protector 4 to a parallel circuit of main winding 2 and auxiliary winding 3 having one ends T1 connected together and the other ends T2 inserted with a phase-lead capacitor 10. The drive controller comprises a circuit 12 for detecting the operating state of the thermal protector 4 and a circuit 22 for interrupting AC power supply to the parallel circuit based on a signal received from the detection circuit 12 upon function of the thermal protector 4. |
