PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quickly and easily detachable and quickly, easily and inexpensively manufacturable transceiver module and a receptacle assembly for receiving it. SOLUTION: This transceiver module 10 is provided with a main housing 12 composed of a surrounding body 64 to which a surrounding material 62 is inserted. Further, a circuit board 60 is surrounded by the surrounding material 62. On the circuit board, optical sub assemblies 44 and 46 are provided and the optical sub assemblies are passed through a recess and extended to the outer side of the surrounding body. A recess cover is provided so as to form a seal for preventing liquid from leaking between the surrounding body and the optical sub assemblies. A module housing can be connected to a plug through a release lever provided with a movement stopper to be received in the hole of a receptacle and the plug connection connector of the module connected inside the receptacle. The receptacle is provided with a means for grounding like a grounding clip provided in the inside and a protective door for limiting electronic radiation.
