PURPOSE: To accurately obtain the position coordinate data of a destination from a telephone number. CONSTITUTION: When the telephone number of a destination is inputted to a vehicle navigation equipment A, the telephone number is transmitted to a position data management system B to be a base station through a telephone line. The system B retrieves position coordinate data corresponding to the telephone number of the destination from data bases 7, 8, and transmits the retrieved result to the equipment A. The equipment A sets up the destination based upon the transmitted position coordinate data and displays a map e.g. including the destination. |
