PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotographic developer capable of preventing a polyolefin resin coated carrier from taking in the additives of a toner, capable of attaining the stabilization of the performance of the carrier over a long period of time and capable of stably giving a high density and high grade uniform output image free from background fog over a long period of time. CONSTITUTION: This electrophotographic developer consists of a carrier obtained by forming polyolefin resin coating layers on the surfaces of magnetic particles by a surface polymerization coating method and a toner consisting of at least colored particles and additives and further contg. fine resin particles having a number average primary particle diameter within the range from 0.05μm to the number average primary particle diameter of the colored particles.
