<p>PURPOSE: To obtain biodegradable toner and small in environmental pollution by using the toner comprising a binder resin made of a biodegradable resin and a colorant made of a water-insoluble edible dye. CONSTITUTION: The electrophotographic toner comprises the edible dye insoluble in water, such as an oil-soluble edible dye like a dye derived from tars, metal salts of water-soluble edible dyes or edible lakes obtained by allowing a substrate to adsorb metal salt of water-soluble edible dyes, and the like, and the bio-degradable binder resin, such as polycaprolactones, polybutyric acids, polyvinyl alcohols, polyethylene glycols, polypropylene glycols, polyurethanes, or polyamides. Biodegradation means that intramolecular bonds are cut by microorganisms, such as bacteria or fungi, enzymes, and the like and produces substances not polluting environments.</p> |
