PURPOSE: To provide a dimmer device, in which adhesion of dust to a dimmer unit can be prevented, by providing a dust preventing filter in intake holes of the dimmer unit. CONSTITUTION: A filter 10 is made of the material having a large heat conductivity such as aluminum, and formed into a net-like flat plate, and placed on a connecting piece 11b of a filter fitting plate 11 to ride over each intake hole 8a of plural light modulating units 1. When the unit 1 is electrified, a triode AC switch and a choke coil inside a casing 7 is heated, but a fan 16 fitted to a light modulating box is driven to flow air from the intake holes 8a of the units 1, and the heating is thereby cooled. The dust included in the air is eliminated by the filter 10 provided in the intake holes 8a, and this air cools the triode AC switch, and thereafter, the air flows from a discharge hole 8b. Reliability of the unit 1 is thereby improved. Deterioration of the ventilation performance can be detected by a ventilation detecting means 14, and an alarm means 5 informs it. |
