PURPOSE: To provide a picture processing method and a picture processor capable of compression-encoding original pictures at high compressibility and restoring them in practically available picture quality. CONSTITUTION: The original pictures are reduced in a picture reducing device 7 and magnified to the same size as the original pictures in a picture magnifying device 8 further, the difference of the data of the original pictures and the data of magnified pictures is obtained in a difference device 9, compression- encoding is performed and the data of reduced pictures and compressionencoded data are outputted from a transmitter 10. The data of the reduced pictures from a receiver 11 are magnified in the picture magnifying device 12, the compression-encoded data are expanded and decoded, the data of the magnified pictures and decoded data are added in an adder 13 and the pictures are restored. |
