PURPOSE: To prevent conversion efficiency from being lowered even when a sentence unsuitable for clause analysis is inputted at the time of continuous clause analysis. CONSTITUTION: When the input character string of a converting object is received from a client device 2 through a character string receiving part 10, a dictionary retrieval part 11 retrieves and extracts independent words and learning information corresponding to all the reading patterns contained in the input character string from a Japanese syllabary (KANA)/Chinese character (KANJI) dictionary 14 and a learning information file 15. While referring to the extracted independent words, an optimum candidate deciding part 12 finds out all the patterns of clause candidates at the end of the input character string. The optimum candidate deciding part 12 decides any optimum pattern out of the found patterns while using a maximum clause length coincidence method, minimum clause number method and maximum evaluation method and successively fixes the leading clause from the end. When the clauses are completely fixed, the optimum candidate deciding part 12 outputs the fixed candidate through a converted candidate return part 13 to the client device 2. |
