The flooring tiles are in the form of thin element (1) shaped to reproduce natural stone. They are attached in groups to a backing layer (3) of fibreglass, PVC or metal mesh, with spaces (2) between the tiles which vary in depth according to the thickness of the tiles. The spaces can be filled once the tiles have been laid or left open. The tiles are made from suitable aggregates and binding agents which are quickly mixed and moulded into shape. As they are thin they are light in weight.
