Brush support comprising guide and protector for motor vehicle alternator

The brush support comprises two parts, one being a reception and guide (2) part which houses the brushes so that they can slide radially relative to the axle (A) of the alternator and is open at at least one end of the receiving part. The other is the protective part (3) which comes out of the receiving part and covers the slip rings on the axle. The seal comprises an annular wall (7a) essentially directed radially outward and an annular skirt (7b) essentially directed axially so as to cover the bearing (R). The protective part is able to receive a removable cap (4) at the free end facing the axle.
