PURPOSE: To make it possible to asynchronously specify the execution of self- diagnosis and to check the error states of respective devices by executing the self-diagnosis of a scanner and a plotter by execution command type I/F control. CONSTITUTION: This facsimile equipment is provided with a host I/F device 31, an HD 32, a control command S1 to a scanner 9, a control command S2 to a plotter 10, etc. In order to attain an efficient self-diagnosis function, the host I/F device 31 for executing a self-diagnosis starting command to the scanner 9 and the plotter 10 to control them adops execution command type interface control, so that self-diagnosis can be executed only by sending the self- diagnosis starting command. Since the self-diagnosis can be attained only by waiting responses from respective devices, the control of other systems such as a MODEM can be executed, the processing efficiency of the whole system can be improved and the error states of respective devices such as the scanner 9 and the plotter 10 can be checked. |
