PURPOSE: To maintain the fixed modulation degree of transfer signals regardless of the frequency of the transfer signals by providing the modulation degree compensation means of the transfer signals for optical output from a rare earch doped fiber, an erbium doped fiber(EDF) for instance. CONSTITUTION: In this light amplification repeater 10 provided with the rare earth doped fiber for receiving and amplifying the monitoring signals of a high frequency, the EDF 11 for instance, an automatic adjustment loop 12 for adjusting a light amplification degree so as to be automatically held at a prescribed fixed value and a monitoring response part 13 for generating the transfer signals of a low frequency in response to the monitoring signals, modulating the monitoring signals by the transfer signals through the automatic adjustment loop 12 and inputting them to the EDF 11, the modulation degree compensation means 30 for maintaining the approximately fixed modulation degree of the transfer signals for the optical output from the EDF 11 regardless of the high/ low of the frequency of the transfer signals is provided. |
