<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to perform an operation just with one pointing finger of the user without detaching the other fingers from a keyboard by arranging a touch sensing pad operated by the pointing finger of an operator present on the keyboard between home keys. SOLUTION: A touch panel 20 is arranged between first and second key sets 12 and 14. The cursor 44 of a display 40 is placed at the optional position of the display 40 by moving a touch panel pointer 42 to a desired position. The touch pad pointer 42 is moved to the desired position by placing the pointing finger on the touch panel 20 and sliding the finger for a distance proportional to the desired movement of the cursor 44. When the touch panel pointer 42 is moved to the desired position of the cursor 44, strong press for a second time is applied to the touch panel 20. When the press for the second time is applied to the touch pad 20, the cursor 44 is moved to the position of the touch pad pointer 42. In such a manner, the operator specifies the cursor 44 to the desired position with the pointing finger.</p> |
