METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PREPARING MOVING IMAGE CODING INFORMATION FOR RAPID TRAVERSE REPRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To eliminate the possibility that moving image coding information for normal speed reproduction and moving image coding information for rapid traverse reproduction are not linked in principle, to unnecessitate a rapid traverse reproducing device requiring a special structure, to have no change of a reproduction but rate by a reproduction mode at the time of a normal reproduction and at the time of a rapid traverse reproduction and further to set the reproduction speed of moving image coding information for rapid traverse reproduction to be prepared to an arbitrary integral multiple. CONSTITUTION: In a first procedure 2, moving image coding information for normal speed reproduction is prepared from each moving image frame composing a moving image by a first encoder. In a second procedure 3, each moving image frame for every N*K (K is a natural number) is decoded from moving image coding information for normal speed reproduction by a decoder. In a third procedure F 4, each decoded moving image frame is coded so as to satisfy a prescribed rapid traverse reproduction bit rate by using an intra-frame coding method by a second encoder.
