PURPOSE: To display data without collapsing the balance of a converted character even if data of n-dot string is processed to data of (n-1)-dot string and resolution is converted. CONSTITUTION: Data and the like inputted to a printer from an external device is stored in RAM 4 through an I/O port 6. Data of the n-dot string, which are taken out one by one from RAM 4, are taken into CPU 2. A resolution conversion circuit incorporated into CPU 2 executes an OR processing and/or an AND processing on data of the adjacent dot strings and reduces the number of strings. Thus, data of the n-dot string is converted into data of the (n-1)-dot string. |
