PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To function a device effectively for a computer network, on which distribution is not performed as ordered, by performing confirmation when all the packets of message are received. SOLUTION: A message 24 includes packets 29-32 to be sent through a mutual connecting mechanism 26 to the destination computer, and each packet is equipped with plural fields 40-43. A computer at the transmission source has a down counter 33 for counting based on a modulus. In this case, the counter is initially set to any arbitrary value and concerning all the packets except for the final packet of message, a delta field 42 is set to '1'. The counter value is transmitted to the computer at the destination as the data field for the final packet 29 in the message. When the respective packets 29-32 arrive at the destination computer, the delta field 42 of packets is added to an accumulator 28 and when the accumulator 28 confirms the arrival of all the packets, the reception of message 25 is reported to the computer at the destination.
