Rung mounting for ladder or scaffolding

The mounting for fixing a rung (3) to an upright (4) has a vertical section (7) which is hollow to fit onto the upright. the vertical section has a horizontal hollow section (8) which fits onto a rung and follows its shape. The assembly can be fitted by locking onto an existing structure. The upper face (9) of the horizontal section can be open to allow enclosure of the end of the rung.
