PURPOSE: To provide a rotation angle detecting method whereby the rotation angle of a recognition object is easily detected. CONSTITUTION: Inputted picture data is transformed (14) into polar coordinate system data. Obtained polar coordinate system data is supplied to a neural network. Then, rotation angle is outputted from the neural network 20. Since transformation is executed from orthogonal coordinate system data to polar coordinate system data, rotation angle is easily detected through the use of the neural network 20 and also rotation angle is correctly detected even with noise. |
