PURPOSE: To efficiently carry out heat exchange without destroying by high- temperature exhaust gas by forming the high-temperature part to become a temperature of specific value or more at a honeycomblike thermal storage unit of a honeycomb structure in which aluminum titanate as main crystal phase at the time of steadily operating a burning furnace. CONSTITUTION: A honeycomblike thermal storage unit 1 is so formed by stacking a plurality of rectangular paralleleliped honeycomb structures 2 that channels formed of through holes 3 are aligned in one direction. At the time of steadily operating a burning furnace, an upper high-temperature part which becomes 1250 deg.C or higher is formed of aluminum titanate as main crystal or a honeycomblike structure 2 made of aluminum titanate and mullite, and the lower low-temperature part is formed of the honeycomb structure 2 in which cordierite and/or mullite as main crystal phase. Thus, even if it is used in the high-temperature exhaust gas at 1400 deg.C, it is not damaged, but can efficiently heat exchange. |
