PURPOSE: To generate a quality thick character or a quality thin character having different thickness quantities from small character data by adjusting an inputted thick character quantity or thin character quantity and generating a thick or thin character pattern while transforming coordinate values of outline data. CONSTITUTION: This device receives input parameters and next reads the coordinate data of objective characters. Since these data are previously stored in a ROM 2, a ROM 3, a hard disk, a floppy 9, etc., the device reads necessary part of information by retrieving them from the font information and the character code information of fetched input information. Then, the device performs the thickening/reducing processing of fetched coordinate data according to the weight information of input parameters. Moreover, the device performs the magnifying and reducing processing of thickened/reduced coordinate data. Thus, the device (the generating means) generates the thick or thin character based on character data transformed by adjusting means and transforming means. |
