PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having satisfactory potential retentivity and ensuring superior image quality. CONSTITUTION: An anodically oxidized coating film 2 of Al subjected to pore sealing treatment with a nickel acetate soln. is formed on an Al alloy substrate 1. The (d) of the coating film is <=0.2, the amt. of residual Ni in the surface of the coating film is <=1at.% and the thickness of a residual Ni layer in the surface of the coating film is <=0.1μm. A photosensitive layer 3 is formed on the substrate 1 with the coating film 2 by successively laminating an electric charge generating layer 4 contg. an org. electric charge generating material and an electric charge transferring layer 5 contg. an org. electric charge transferring material to obtain the objective photoreceptor.
