PURPOSE: To provide a device and a method for magnetizing a signal magnetic pole, wherein a relative positional relation between a drive magnetic pole and a signal magnetic pole is excellent in accuracy, and an operator is not required to align a rotor. CONSTITUTION: A magnetizing device is equipped with a rotor holding means 10 which holds a rotor 20 in a freely rotatable manner, a positioning magnet 7 which is fixed to a pedestal 2 confronting a drive magnetic pole so as to be in a prescribed positional relation to the drive magnetic pole, a magnetizing yoke 8 possessed of a magnetic pole surface so as to form a signal magnetic pole confronting the magnetizing region of a drive magnet 22 mounted on the rotor 20, and a coil 9 which excites the magnetic pole surface of the magnetizing yoke 8 into a specific magnetic pole. A rotor holding means 10 may be equipped with a bearing 4 where a shaft 24 fixed to the rotor 20 at its center is inserted in a freely rotatable state and a holder 5 which the lower end of the shaft 24 holds against holding the load of the rotor 20 by an elastic force. |
