PURPOSE: To display a clear stereoscopic image large in size, and of high fidelity to an original stereoscopic image. CONSTITUTION: Based on the information of a first stereoscopic image IM1, and according to the magnifying power change generated corresponding to a relative distance between each part of a second stereoscopic image IM2 and a magnifying optical system 300 in the direction of the optical axis, a first correction is made so that a stereoscopic image IM3 visible to the naked eye is about similar to a first stereoscopic image IM1, and also according to the aberration of a second stereoscopic image generated after magnification in the magnifying optical system 300, a second correction is made so that the stereoscopic image IM3 visible to the naked eye has almost no distortion to the first stereoscopic image IM1, and the information of the second stereoscopic image IM2 is computed. Based on this information, the second stereoscopic image IM2 is formed and the stereoscopic image IM3 visible to the naked eye is obtained by magnifying the image in the magnifying optical system. |
