PURPOSE: To reduce jitter as much as possible and to obtain good reproducing stability by forming an enhancing layer to have B pencil hardness or higher hardness. CONSTITUTION: A light-transmitting substrate 12 is disposed in the one surface side of a light-absorbing layer 14 containing an org. dye stuff, and a light- reflecting layer 18 is in the other side. An enhancing layer 16 which is transparent for the wavelength of reproducing laser light is formed between the light- absorbing layer 14 and the light-transmitting substrate 12. The enhancing layer 16 is made of polysiloxane or solgel glass the hardness of which is controlled to B or higher pencil hardness. When polysiloxane is to be used to form the enhancing layer 16, it is incorporated by 3-50mol% calculated as SiO2 unit in the molecular structure to increase the hardness. Thereby, excess deformation of the light-absorbing layer 14 and/or enhancing layer 16 during recording can be suppressed by the enhancing layer 16 and pits of a uniform shape are formed in a desired position. Thus, jitter can be decreased and reproducing stability is improved, which further realizes fast recording. |
