The pressure plate during the press process is movable by means of an operating lever against the sieve plate (3). Parallel to the pressure shaft (7) in the side parts (1) a drive shaft (25) carrying the operating lever is located. On or in the side parts equally shaped gears are arranged, which connect the end areas of the drive shaft with those of the pressure shaft. The ends of the drive shaft extend on both sides over the side parts, in order to be connectable selectively with the operating lever. Parallel to the side parts reinforcement plates are provided with bearing eyelets for the drive shaft and the pressure shaft.
