Converting metal-contg. heavy dust or sludge into form suitable for blowing into a metallurgical furnace

Metal-containing heavy dust or sludge (7) is processed in order to be suitable for injecting into a metallurgical furnace by mixing with a finely dispersed, dry substance (15) containing fired lime. A fine fraction is sieved off (20) and mixed with a limestone-containing agglomerate (24) of high pressure strength and grain size 1-6 mm and lignite coke dust (23). The mixture is then blown into the furnace (32).
