FIELD: transport engineering; diesel-powered heavy-duty crawler vehicles. SUBSTANCE: to prevent fire and destruction of heater caused by overheating in case of interruption of cooling liquid supply, capacitive level pickup of conducting cooling liquid is installed at outlet of heat exchanger. One of capacitor plates of pickup is cooling liquid proper, and outlet of pickup is connected to heater ON/OFF unit. Pickup of such design is simple and features low inertia and is capable of responding to density of steam-water medium in contact with its surface during operation of heater. If cooling liquid flow through heat exchanger is interrupted, amount of steam in heat carrier at heat exchanger output sharply rises, capacitance of pickup decreases, and this change is detected by unit which switches off heater and prevents emergency situations. EFFECT: facilitated operation, enhanced reliability of vehicle and safety at heating of engine unit. |
