Apparatus for closing window and other structural openings

The closing apparatus has a frame (11) comprising two telescopically extending frame parts (17,18) with locking device. Each frame has at least two parallel telescopic tubes (19,20) connected together by a cross tube. A roll (35) of foil (12) mounted on the frame closes the opening as the frame is extended to the required size. A rubber sealing lip or similar is associated with the outer side ends of each frame part. The first frame part (17) has drive shaft (23) that connects the frame to or away from the second frame part (18). The drive shaft has side ends (28, 29) that each carry a pinion (30, 31) with the rotational movement of the drive shaft causing inward and outward movement in the second frame part.
