FIELD: instrumentation engineering; determining internal structure of ferromagnetic materials and parts. SUBSTANCE: video monitoring device introduced in flaw detector has magnetizing unit 1, scanning magnetic-field transducer 3, and video monitoring device control unit 4 whose input is coupled with output of scanning magnetic-field transducer 3; novelty is that it has X-Y unit 5 for visualizing magnetic-field distribution that incorporates screen column selecting unit 6, screen line selecting unit 7, and display matrix 8; first output of control unit 4 is connected to input of screen column selecting unit 6 whose N outputs are coupled with first N inputs of display matrix 8 and second output of control unit 4 is connected to input of screen line selecting unit 7 whose M outputs are coupled with second M inputs of display matrix 8. The latter may be built around either light-emitting diodes assembled into M-line and N-column matrix with all light-emitting diodes of each of M lines connected through cathode to respective line bus and all light-emitting diodes of each of N columns connected through anode to respective column line, or it may be built around liquid-crystal matrix screen.
