Vehicle air conditioner with swashplate compressor for oil suspension in cooling gas

Intake and discharge chambers (14-17) handle the cooling gas before and after compression plus a variable volume actuator chamber (8) to alternate between pre-set and reduced volumes. The gas is compressed here during volume reduction, using a drive shaft-mounted (9) swashplate (10) to switch the chamber (8) between the two volume settings. Intake ports (1a,2a) link the discharge and variable chambers as against outlet (1b,2b) ports between discharge and variable swashplate chambers. Intake valves (22) open the intake ports during volume expansion to transfer the gas before compression from intake to swashplate chamber (8). Lubricating channels pass the lubricating oil-containing cooling gas to the compressor drive. One end of the lubricating channels is synchronously joined to the intake valves and the swashplate chamber. The far end of the channels remains permanently linked within the compressor to an area whose pressure exceeds the chamber (8) pressure during the volume expansion stage. Bored front and rear cylinder blocks for double-acting pistons (12) are joined by drive shaft (9) to the slidably carried compressor (40,41,50,51) swashplate (10) to form the swashplate-based actuating system.
