The spring clutch has a clutch housing (2), a pressure plate (4) engageable with friction linings and a diaphragm spring (3) for urging the pressure plate (4) towards the friction linings. A device (1) reduces the transfer of heat from the pressure plate to the diaphragm spring and is provided in the region between the surface of the pressure plate engaging the friction linings and the diaphragm spring. The device comprises a layer of thermal insulation (5) arranged at the region of engagement (9) between the pressure plate and the diaphragm spring.
