The network according to the present invention is formed by topology in which point-to-point channels and bus type broadcasting channels are combined with each other by a tree structure. An input/output device connected to the network is named MARS (Message Access and Repeat Server) unit, as indicated by a small box shown in the drawing. Reference numerals (41, 42, 43) denote different LAN's. Not more than one computer can be connected to one MARS unit. The addresses of MARS units connected to one bus type transmission line in the LAN's satisfy the condition in which a certain one-digit figure is replaced. When the computer has delivered a message to the MARS units, a transmission route is thereafter judged automatically from a destination address without receiving the aid of the computer, and the delivering as well as returning of messages are carried out sequentially by packet switching when the use of a continuous system causes an inconvenience. When one address is composed of 4 bits x 3 digits = 12 bits, 2,744 sets of 41 and 43 and 8,108,731 computers can be connected even in two layers of LAN in the drawing.
