SUBSTANCE: keratin fibers, covered with a composition containing at least one direct dyestuff having at least one sulfo group, are brought in contact for less than two minutes with a gas containing stem having temperature higher than 75 C. EFFECT: achieved excellent coloration for limited time without risk of damaging body or head skin.
