Digital optical switch, esp. for transparent optical network

摘要

The switch contains at least two asymmetrical light conductors (2,3,5,6) arranged at least approximately adjacent to each other over a short path and electronically controllable in a central region (4) wrt. their adiabatic coupling. The light conductors have a conductor intrinsic mode influencing grid arrangement (10) in the central region. The gird arrangement is in the form of an electrode structure which can be selectively electrooptically controlled. It has four electrode strips per period and at least one period.
