METHOD OF MANUFACTURING COMPOSITE MATERIALS OF ALUMINIUM SYSTEM FOR GOLF HEAD AND MADE THEREBY, AND GOLF CLUB HEAD

The Al alloy as a starting material comprises 4.0 to 4.5wt.% Cu, 1.2 to 1.8wt.% Mg, 0.3 to 0.9wt.% Mn, and the balance of Al. This composite material consists of the powder mixture of the same chemical composition as above, and 30 to 55wt.% carbonized silicon ceramic(SiC) particle as dispersoid reinforced agent. This composite material is produced by the processes of mechanical mixing and supersonic dispersing of powders under organic solvent, pre-compacting of powder mixture at 80deg.C for 12hrs by dryer, canning for hot pressing, degassing at 450deg.C for 1hr by vacuum hot press device under the vacuum degree of 5=G10-4 to 10-3torr, and hot pressing at 520deg.C for 30min under the pressure of 50 to 100MPa. The composite(25) of the alloy is inserted to sole(21) part of thin thickness having a space in the metal-wood golf club. This composite provides a good elasticity, specific elasticity and strength, wear resistance.
