Machine tool with relatively mobile tool holders and workstations

The tool holders (2) are movable vertically on the sliders (3) distributed around the rim of a stationary frame (1) surmounted by a control turret (5) on a rotary support (6). The workstations (7) on the rim of the turret are rotated into position opposite the tool holders, and have vertical rotary spindles (9) driven by motors (8) and movable on sliders (10) under computerised numerical control (14). Data are transmitted contactlessly, e.g. optically, inductively or via a radio link, from stationary signalling devices (17) to underlying mobile receivers (18) on the turret.
