In the monitoring device proposed for monitoring data measurement in an electronic vehicle engine power-control unit, the single computing element outputs a signal which acts on at least one of its input channels either directly, or indirectly by detuning the supply voltage to the at least one input channel. A fault condition is recognized if the measured parameter fed in through this input channel, time correlated with the output of the control signal, exceeds at least one given limit.
