A reproduction command and inherent address information are sent from a controller (3) to driving devices (1) and (2), which in turn output compressed video signals for each group of picture with the inherent address information attached. After edited through a switch circuit (4), the signals are transmitted to a decoder (5). This decoder (5) detects the points of editing by using the inherent address information, decodes the signals and produces video outputs. Accordingly, video signals having high image quality can be otained without carrying noises generated at the edition point.
