The support (1) is designed to keep in expanded condition an elastic covering sleeve (M) for elongated cylindrical elements such as electric cable joints and the like. The support comprises a tape wound spirally in side-by-side turns (3) so as to take on a cylindrical tubular form and mutual constraint means between the turns to keep the tape in wound condition.
