The body (12) of the tool holds the sheathing of one or several fibres in the sleeve (13). A channel (15) extending across the body displaces and receives the sheathing which is arranged in a groove made in a plane end surface (14) and is held in a mobile jaw (18) which is guided into place by two guide rods (20,21) and two bores (22,23). The jaw has an inclined boss (28) to apply the sheathing to the side wall (17) of the groove and its base (16). A cutter support (32) is hinged on the body (33,34) to lead the cutter with its side edge (9) to cut the slot against adjustable abutments (45) which stop the cutter at a given depth.
