The vehicle body is made from panels (1, 2, 3, 4) of a compsn. material, each shaped with a projecting edge (5) for joining to an adjacent panel. Adjacent panels' edges are made with a projection along one side and a depression along the other, so that the projection on one panel fits into the depression in the neighbouring one and vice versa to create flush surfaces. Each of the panels - forming the vehicle's floor (4), two sides (2), the roof (1) and rear panel (3) - is made from two rigid layers of glass or carbon fibres embedded in a polyester or epoxy resin, and an intermediate lightweight layer, pref. of polyurethane foam.
