The equipment is for prismatic items, particularly cylindrical tins (17), the first trough (3) having two vertical sidewalls and a bottom (10) down which the items slide as far as stops (15,16). Coupling devices secure a second trough (4) to the first one above or below ti, so that the troughs are in line. The items can be thrust forward by springs, or the troughs can slope forwards and downwards, typically at 20 +/- 10 degrees. Each sidewall forward edge can slope backwards from the bottom, and further stops can be provided, to prevent any item bearing against the first stops (15,16) from tipping forwards. The forward ends of the troughs can be one above the other in the vertical direction.
