The instrument consists of a tube (2) with a lateral hole (12) in its tip, which ends in a point. The tube contains a rod (13) which can slide axially inside it to close the lateral hole when a handle (7) at the proximal end of the instrument is operated. The pointed tip of the instrument is curved. The handle used to operate the inner rod has a ring (9) for the user's finger. This handle is connected to another handle (5) by a pivot lying perpendicular to the tube. In addition, the tube has an indicator mark on it to show its depth of penetration in the trocar.
