To monitor the moisture within the thickness of composite material, during prodn. of number of capacitors (10) are placed geometrically within its thickness. The dielectric response of the material is determined in a given frequency range, for a choice of suitable processes as a function of the physical phenomena through the dielectric response. The equivalent capacity (Cp) and equivalent loss (CpD) are measured for each monitor in the given frequency range. A calculation, by the chosen process, gives the capacity equivalent (Cp) and equivalent loss (CpD) fractions related only to moisture. The fractions are used together with the material dielectric response, to determine the deg. of wetness within the material thickness.
