The system has a ground radar separate from the radar to protect the radar, searching in the elevation region 40-70 degrees for an anti-Radiation Missile Target. If the target is found, then a missile is launched to intercept the anti-radiation missile. The missile has a radar transmitter (16) and radome to emit signals to mimic the ground radar being protected. The launched missile is designed to intercept the anti-radiation missile, and fire a warhead to destroy it.
