ELASTIC FIBERS, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND POLYESTER ELASTOMER TO BE USED THEREIN

Elastic polyester fibers made mainly from a polyester elastomer comprising an aromatic polyester component as the hard segment and a poly(alkylene oxide) glycol component having a number-average molecular weight of 500 to 5000 as the soft segment and having a tension set of at most 100 % after 400 % elongation. When 1,2-bis[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)phenoxy]ethane or a mixture of 1,4-benzenediethanol with ethylene glycol is used as the diol component constituting the aromatic polyester component, the resulting elastic fibers are particularly excellent in the elastic characteristics exhibited in an extremely deformed state, thus being suitable for clothes.
