In a process for extruding plastic melts (28) to form hollow bodies (21) by pressing the plastic melt through a shaping tool (24) with an internal shaping rod (26) and then sizing and cooling the extruded hollow body in a sizing and cooling unit (31), the sizing and cooling of the hollow body take place in the sizing and cooling unit under pressure. A device for implementing the process is characterized in that the shaping tool (24) and the sizing and cooling unit (31) are firmly secured together to form a closed system so that the extrusion moulding pressure prevailing in the shaping tool can be propagated into the sizing and cooling unit and the shaping rod (26) projects from the shaping tool (24) into the sizing and cooling unit (31). |
