A laser system (10) includes an apparatus and method having a primary laser resonator (11) having a laser medium (12) therein for producing a laser beam of a first wavelength and a second laser resonator (27) optically connected to the primary resonator (11) to allow a portion of the laser energy from the primary laser resonator (11) to pass into the secondary laser resonator (27). An optical parametric oscillator (27, 33) is located intracavity of the secondary laser resonator (27) and includes a non-linear crystalm (33) for producing a laser beam of a second wavelength therefrom.
