<p>A non-hydraulic injection molding machine (20) for making hollow plastic articles. The machine (20) has a parison mold (21) having top (22) and bottom (24) portions for injecting a parison onto each of a plurality of core rods (26), and a blow mold (31) having top (32) and bottom (34) portions for blowing the parisons into hollow work pieces. The articles are removed from the core rods (26) at an eject station (40). The core rods (26) are mounted on a turret (50). The turret (50) rotates to advance the core rods (26) from the parison mold (21) to the blow mold (31), and from the blow mold (31) to the eject station (40). The machine (20) has a rotating crank shaft (64). A translating mechanism (68) translates the rotation of the crank shaft (64) to a vertical reciprocating motion. A clamp beam (60) is connected to the translating mechanism (68) and is actuated by rotation of the crank shaft (64).</p> |
